LOCATION Hotel Arena is situated in the 's-Gravesandestraat, on the edge of Amsterdams historical centre. The Oosterpark is next door and the Artis Zoo and the Ethnological museum are a short walk's distance.

ACCOMMODATION Formerly a Roman Catholic orphanage with adjoining chapel, the building in which Hotel Arena is accommodated dates from 1890. Monumental staircases, long corridors with high ceilings and original murals give this historical complex its unique atmosphere.

These days the complex is home to a hotel, a caf?-restaurant and a club. Guests spend the night in stylishly decorated rooms, where once the large dormitories were located. At the heart of the building you will find caf?-restaurant Alfresco with its sunny terrace and beautiful garden.

FACILITIES Each room has its own sanitary facilities with a shower or bath, a toilet, a television set and telephone.

DINING Caf?-restaurant Alfresco is a great place to meet locals. A wonderful garden on one side and a large sunny terrace on the other, it's glass structure creates a true sense of being outdoors.

On the menu you'll find a mix of Dutch specialties and international cuisine.
